COSMICJAGUAR
Carlos Cedillo, a.k.a. Cosmicjaguar, is a multi-instrumentalist electronica composer, visionary artist and a Mayan calendar Daykeeper. Shamanism through music, is his life's calling and passion. He is not of Mayan blood, but his life’s path drew him to Mexico where he embraced this culture. It is this that brings the inspiration for his music. The moment of inception of a musical thought must align with certain cycles and Mayan calendar glyphs. These vibrations manifest as images and sound. The sound sculptures are metaphors of stories, visions, prophecies, producing emotion, evolution, and ascension.
Cosmicjaguar's lead single, “13 Ix l3 Ix”, was composed April 30, 2010 - Cosmicjaguar day on the sacred Mayan calendar. The composition wraps you in a cosmic energy flowing through the cosmos. Then without any notice, you hear the heart beat of the piece. It sustains it throughout giving it life – the energy force within. You feel it, you experience it. It’s a natural drug for your soul. He calls it "Dymensional Music" – I call it glorious! Through experimentation and improvisation, he’s created an instrumental wonderland where you witness these creations through his eyes. Carlos honors the spiritually of these indigenous people and hopes that his music will inspire and delight those who chose to listen. I have no doubt that YOU will get a glimpse of what Cosmicjaguar is all about.
This single is representative of the entire CD, whereas these compositions have a common thread, dedicating this CD to the Mayan Ancestors.
