Getting Started
How do I sign up with musicSUBMIT.com?
It's easy. Simply click "Create Artist Account" and begin filling in the form fields with basic information about your Artist/Band. There are only 2 pages; it should take you less than 2 minutes to create your basic account. Then, check your email box for our "Welcome!" email for further instructions loading your songs & pics.
Where do you submit my music?
It depends on your genre. If you're a Jazz artist, your music will go to Jazz internet radio stations, music mag's, and any other sites that have chosen to accept submissions from Jazz artists.
What if i don't have my songs in mp3 format?
If you haven't ripped your songs from your CD into mp3 files, mail your CD to our address, and we'll rip your songs and upload for you.

When I sign up for a submission package....How long does it take for you to begin submitting my music?
When you sign up for a submission package, your account will be "Activated" within 24hrs. We will then check to see If your music material is in place. If everything appears ready to go, you can expect your submissions to begin within 1-2 days after Activation.
How will I know when my submissions have begun?
You will receive an email notification with "You have just been submitted to ....X site" in the subject line. You can also click on "Reporting" in your account to see a running count and list of every site to which you were submitted.
How do you save me money?
Because we only send to a targeted list of contacts who are expecting submissions from us you won't have to send out any CDs until you know you are getting something out of it!!
This saves you CD, postage, and packaging costs (and the money you save more than pays for the cost of this service). We also save you hundreds of hours of your valuable time by doing all the research and finding all the resources to submit you to.
If you were to submit to all of our resources the old fashioned way, you would have to send out a minimum of 200 CD's... of which only a few would actually benefit you. At approximately $1.75 in postage costs alone, two hundred press kits costs you $350! Add the costs of CDs, printed materials and packaging... now you're talking serious money..
When I create my Artist Account, can I use my musicSUBMIT
music player to sell my CD's from my website, without buying
a submission package?
Yes. We allow any artist to create
an artist account and embed their musicSUBMIT music player
w/Buy link on any other site. We do not require artists
to sign up for a submission package in order to sell Cd's using musicSUBMIT.
Submitting my Music
How many songs & pics am I permitted to use for submissions?
You can upload up to 3 songs and 3 pics for your submissions. ( Pick your best 3 tunes for promotion. This is always a tough choice for every musician; however, your entire album is not necessary for submission purposes. Most radio stations and music mags will sample your music briefly before deciding if it's a good fit for their site).
Okay, you've just submitted my music to some sites. What do I do now?
Congratulations! You've just put your music in the hands of the web's best music sites!. Now be patient... sites interested in your music will send you an "Acceptance" letter. Check your email inbox for the subject line "Reviewed!...Your music was accepted by a musicSUBMIT.com review site!". Also check the Reporting section of your account to keep track of sites you've been submitted to & accepted by. If you choose to mail a CD to a site, you can mark those sites accordingly.
Sites that "accept" your music will generally request that you email mp3's or mail a CD. If you choose to Allow Downloads via the List Your MP3 section of your account, the site may download your songs. Follow up with the sites & provide access to your music - these sites are your best channel for getting the word out on the web!
You submitted my music to a site that no longer exists. What gives?
Occasionally the music sites to which we submit artists' material will change formats, genres, or just plain "die". If you're submitted to a non-existent site or one that is completely off the mark, go ahead and forward the submission or sitename to submissions@musicsubmit.com. We'll check it out and replace your submission with a fresh one.
What if I don't have a Bio (or a press release, a video,
a website, etc.)? Will you still submit me?
We don't require artists to have all the
music material that we allow to be submitted. As long as
you have 1 working song, a website (or other site such as
myspace) and an email address to contact you, you can have
your music submitted via musicSUBMIT.com.
If
a lot of people sign up for the MusicSUBMIT service how do
you make sure I'm not just another number passing through?
How do you make sure I get the attention I deserve?
Sites receiving our artist submissions can "cap" their daily number of submissions. Most sites limit this number to 3 artists per day, so you don't need to worry about getting lost in a stack of dozens of artist submisions.
How long does it take to submit me?
We usually process 25, 50, and 100 submission orders in one blast. All other bulk submission
orders (200, 400, & 800 ) are processed in batches of 100-150 submission per week until
completion. (We do this to allow you time to follow up with sites for CD's, mp3's, etc.).

My Account
I've uploaded my songs to my Music & Image file page. But when I click "View Your Submissions", my songs are not playing via the music player. What's wrong?
Your songs may not be streaming for a variety of reasons. Try these tips:
- Make sure you're uploading mp3 files and not wma or cda files.
- Songs need to be ripped at 192kbps or better.
- If you have a slow connection, or an AOL browser with a Mac, you may have trouble getting the songs to "stick". Go ahead and email them to support@musicsubmit.com, and we'll upload for you.

I purchased a submission package.....why is my account still Inactive?
Your account should be "Activated" within 24hrs. If you've waited a day and you're still "Inactive", write to support@musicsubmit.com with your Band Name & payment method (credit card, paypal, money order, etc), and we'll check our records for your purchase. ****If you purchased via Paypal, make sure you include your paypal email address in the General Info section of your account*****
I just created an Artists Account. Do I have to choose a submission package today, or can I wait until I'm ready?
You may take as much time as you need. Your account info will stay in place, so feel free to log back in anytime to view/edit/load your music & material.
How do I cancel my monthly subscription?
To cancel your account click here and use our cancel account request form.
If I cancel my subscription, will my account be deleted from your system?
No. Your music & material will remain in place indefinitely - please feel free to login to access your account, check your "Reporting" section to see where you were submitted, or order more submissions at any time. Your account status will be set to "Idle", which means the sites that received your music can still access it, but you will no longer be submitted to new sites.
What is my "Short URL" and "Artist MPK"?
Your Short Url is your weblink that looks like this: http:/www.musicsubmit.com/yourbandname
This Short Url is the link for your Artist MPK (Music Press Kit). You may use this link to send to anyone you wish!
When I click my "Short Url", I get a message saying it's "Inactive". How do I make it "Active"?
You need only to purchase any musicSUBMIT submission package (as low as 9.95 for 25 submissions), then your Short URL/Artist MPK will be Active for life! (even after you cancel your subscription, your link will still be accessible & active!)
