Finding more links to your site and
growing your email list (continued)
Other Artists
This category is pretty much limitless. There
are hundreds of thousands of musicians all over the internet with
their own website or hosted web pages that they can trade links
from. It's a good idea to find local bands first. Again, you should
also try to trade mentions in each others email lists while making
your link exchange requests..
MusicSUBMIT
Whoops! Sorry for the shameless plug here, but
getting links to your site is one of the things MusicSUBMIT does
for you. We list you in directories that have a lot of weight
in helping your site do well in the search engines. If you haven't
visited our site check us out and see what we can do for your
music promotion
efforts!
In summary..
Link trading can feel like it's time consuming
and tedious and sometimes it doesn't bear much fruit.. at first!!
Look at your efforts to exchange links with local businesses as
a great opportunity to build relationships with these businesses
and you'll begin to get the bigger picture. Go on and meet these
people in person, thank them for their link, give them a CD, ask
them to come to a show, etc. These are the people that might put
your posters up on their walls, or sell your CD's from a small
kiosk on the counter top. Trading links can be a great lead builder
AND it's a great way to get better results in the search engines.
Good luck!
