MySpace isn't the only place where you can
market your music with social networking technology. You can
expect to see more and more social networking sites like these
coming down the pike:
 |
|
SiteSpaces.net -
A full blown social networking site with bands and people.
Very much like myspace. Has about 6,000+ members. |
 |
|
CommunityX.net -
This social networking site leans towards the harder, edgier rock demographic. |
 |
|
ArtistNow.com -
A social network that encompasses film, art and fashion in addition to music. |
 |
|
PureVolume.com -
A great site! Very much like myspace in terms of continuity
and ease of use. The site is nicely steered to keep
the focus on the music. I like it! |
 |
|
Radio2-0.com - This is actually a social networking program that you download.
All of the search functions search against the music and
not against other people so the network is based much more
on musical tastes. This one looks promising! |
 |
|
Yahoo
360 - Also has a social networking site.
It's not really geared to showcase bands but you can still
set up a personal profile about your music and it will save
the same purpose. Keep in mind they have a
HUGE user base and it's pretty much a well kept secret. See
what you can do about getting as many friends as possible here! |
 |
|
MSN - This
is a pretty full blown social network, again enhanced by the
already large user base from the msn messenger. Here is a cool
sample profile - EarthDayNetwork |
 |
|
Omotion.net -
A very nice full blown music based social networking site that
claims to have over 100,000 fans in the network. |
| |
|
FreeMp3Mail.com -
15,000 new members makes this a pretty good place to list your
music. The social network
has some bugs and needs improvement, but we have the inside
scoop that the company will soon be moving forward with the
overall functionality of FreeMp3Mail.com. ;) |
