Making a link work harder for you - Boost
the power of your inbound links (continued)
Controlling the text of your inbound links.
How do you control the way people link to you? One
great way is to provide linking code for other webmasters. This
way they can just copy and paste your code. It's easier for them
and they won't make a change to your text unless they deem it absolutely
necessary.
Here is some sample code you can use- just change
the variables to fit your bands needs.

Changing your inbound links over time.
After you are where you want to be in the search
engine results for a set of keywords you can change the link text
in your inbound link code to begin climbing the charts for a different
set of key words.
So now instead of "Boston Band The Dudes"
you may want to try "Rock Band The Dudes" for your inbound
link text code. Just keep trading links with this new code until
you achieve the desired results.
Links within your own site.
You should also look at the links within your own
site and try to uncover opportunities to add power to your navigation.
For example, instead of linking back to the index page with the
text "back to index" (see the bottom
of this page) we've used the words "music promotion
index". This link text will help us show up in google
when people search for "music promotion".
