Improving Keyword Density: Replace Text with Images
Here is a simple technique used by Search Engine Optimization
experts to improve the keyword density of webpages . (See this
article for a quick refresher on the definition of keywords,
how to use them, and the distinction between Keywords and Meta-Tag
Keywords),.
The Concept: Search engines calculate “Keyword
Density” on a page by dividing the number of Keywords
appearing on the page by the total number of words on the page.
Then you add up all the words on the page, counting 100 total
words.
Your Keyword Density is: Keyword Density = #
of Keywords/ # of Total Words Or, 6/100 = 6% Keyword Density.
The idea is to maximize your Keyword Density
on each webpage by either (1) increasing the number of Keywords
or (2) decreasing your Total Words. Either or both actions will
increase the ratio of Keywords to Total Words, and hence increase
your Keyword Density.
Of course, you can always add more Keywords
to the page. But let’s say you can’t insert any
more Keywords without compromising the content. What can you
do? Simply reduce the number of countable Total Words on the
page by converting text to images! (Remember, search engines
do not “count” words that are within image files
– they only count text words).
Step 1: Identify a paragraph on your webpage
containing no Keywords.
The first step is to identify a paragraph or
section of text that contains no keywords. Choose a paragraph
with 20 or more words in it, none of which are Keywords. The
larger the section, the better.
