ABOUT MILMINE:

Having a love for music from a very young age, Oliver Milmine relocated from Manchester England, to the states when he was 6 years old. By the time he was 14, he picked u p his first guitar and everything changed from there. Having a want to play music his whole life, he took the the basement, got himself a Macbook Pro, and taught himself not only the art of songwriting, but the recording process as well. "So Long And Thanks" is an album completely performed, written, recorded, and produced by Milmine himself. The record is a testament to where he is at with his sound right now.

With the release of the “So Long And Thanks” LP, Milmine brings a new feel to a clashing of genres. Lush with addicting musical hooks, an indie but soulful vocal style, and plenty of pop undertones, the record boasts the aesthetic of indie rock anthems. ALthough songs are diverse from on and other, there is a glue that holds them all together much like a concept album. Most importantly, the record never loses sight of the emotional platform great songs are built from.

The first single, “Problems”, immediately grabs you with its powerful vocal melodies. Complete with a dream pop atmosphere, a strong groove, and an all around youthful attitude, the song seems to breathe while it plays on.

“Problems is basically about having to obtain someone else's problems when you enter a relationship with them and the song
describes how it was too much for me. The verses talk about my own problems and the chorus talk about some else's I also had to deal with. I think it had a good in between of being slow but also upbeat. It really opens you up and is relatable to almost anyone.” explains songwriter Oliver Milmine of his single.

Although the single does speak volumes for the album, to get a real understanding of where Milmine is coming from, it should be heard tin its entirety.

“A good bass line and some really out of the norm drumming patterns is what I love to go for. Also love to wide open reverb
vocals and twangy tremolo guitar parts that lift you off of your feet for a couple minutes. I love to put effects on my guitar to really push the norm and create some odd sounds,” says Milmine of the songwriting approach for the record.
